Prep Time: 20 mins

Cook Time: 1hour

Total Time: 1hour 20 mins

Ingredients:

1 lb Fresh fish, cleaned and washed

1 small Pumpkin Peeled and chopped into two inches pieces or about 1 1/2 cups

1 Yellow/White yam Peeled and chopped cut into two inches pieces or any amount you’d like

1 green Banana, peeled and cut

1 cup Okra, chopped

1 cup Carrots, Diced

3 green onions, chopped

Salt

2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped

6 Sprig thyme

1 Scotch bonnet pepper, left whole and uncut

8 Pimento berries (allspice)

1 pack Fish tea/Cock soup noodle mix

2 Sweet Corn, cut into bite sized pieces

2 tsp Black Pepper

1/2 tbsp Fish seasoning

1/2 tbsp All Purpose Seasoning

1 cup Flour

1 tbsp Fresh Blend/Green Seasoning

Directions:

Place a stock pot with about 6 cups of water on the stove to boil, over a medium-high heat.

Once the water starts boiling add in the fish to boil. This will make a fish broth which will flavor the soup a lot. You can use fish filets for this recipe instead of an actual fish with bones especially if you will be serving this soup to children. The fish bones will help to heighten the fish flavor.

Allow the fish to boil for about 10mins or until it becomes soft, then remove it from the pot and set aside to cool.

Using a fork or your hands flake the fish into big chunks of meat and be sure to remove and discard all of the bones if you used fish with the bones. Set aside for later.

In a bowl place the flour and add water, little by little, while kneading into a nice smooth and tight dough to make the dumplings. Set aside.

Now add in the Pumpkin, Okra,  Carrots, Green oBanana, Yam, sweet corn, Pimento berries, Green onions, garlic, Fresh blend/green seasoning, Scotch Bonnet Pepper and the Thyme. Add in about 3-4 more cups of water if needed. The texture of this soup should be more like a runny broth and not thick hence why it's called Fish Tea.

Allow to boil or cook for 5 mins.

Now form or roll the flour dough into little round or long dumplings (your preference) and place them into the soup to cook.

Add the remainder of ingredients- the soup mix, Black pepper, enough salt to taste, All purpose seasoning and the fish seasoning.

Allow to simmer and continue cooking until all of the vegetables are cooked.

Lastly add the fish meat to the pot and allow to cook for an additional 5 mins. my Remove the Scotch Bonnet pepper from the pot and serve hot right away.

Enjoy!
