Teriyaki Chicken

Who doesn’t love a quick meal that comes together in no time? Why get takeout when you can make a delicious and easy Teriyaki Chicken right at home. The ingredients in this recipe is very minimal and basic and it is a possibility that you already have them sitting in your pantry or refrigerator. I suggest using Chicken thighs for this recipe as they take longer to dry out vs chicken breast. Serve this with all your favorite sides and you will have dinner ready in no time!

Prep Time: 20 mins

Cook Time: 25 mins

Total Time:  45 mins

 Ingredients

6 Boneless Chicken Thighs, cleaned of any excess fat

1/2 cup Soy sauce

2 tsp All Purpose Seasoning

2 tsp Corn Starch (Optional)

1 tbsp Brown Sugar

2 tsp Chilli Garlic sauce or 1 tsp Red Pepper flakes

1 tsp Chicken Seasoning

1 tsp Seasme Oil

2 tsp crushed Ginger

Oil

2 tsp Hoisin sauce

1/4 tsp Black Pepper

1 tsp Garlic, minced fine

2 tbsp Mirin (chinese wine)

Directions

Wash your chicken using vinegar, lime juice and cool water or you can clean your chicken however you prefer.

In a separate container combine together the Hoisin sauce, Soy sauce, All Purpose Seasoning, Corn starch, Brown Sugar, Chilli Garlic Sauce, Chicken Seasoning, Sesame Oil, Garlic, Ginger and Black Pepper in a bowl.

Pour all over the chicken ensuring that every single part of the chicken has been coated in the marinade. Cover and allow to marinate for at least 2 hours-overnight.

Once the chicken has been fully marinated, place a skillet over a medium-high heat with enough oil to coat it.

Add the chicken to fry for about 7-10 mins per side or until the juices from the chicken are clear. Chicken is safe to eat once its internal temperature reaches 165 degrees once a meat thermometer has been inserted.

You can also place your chicken in the oven at 380 degrees for about 10 mins to ensure that they are cooked through all the way.

Once done allow the chicken to rest for 5 mins and then slice into pieces on a cutting board.

Note: You can make some extra marinade and add to a sauce pan to simmer for about 5 mins and serve with your chicken.

Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy.
